I'm not sure what VST/synth or other you use with Mixcraft v9. Sorry I have rambled on a bit, the point is I don’t want to switch to another DAW (Cubase was the one I liked the most as it reminded me more of Mixcraft), and I really want to use Mixcraft again so I really, really hope it has been better optimised and improved. I also prefer their performance/CPU usage monitoring which is much more detailed and easier to understand (Reaper is particularly useful for this). I also prefer their metering as you can see them more clearly and get a digital representation of peaks. I do like some of the other DAW’s features such as Studios One’s ability to import and see plugin images instead of just looking through a massive list of names and I like how it and Cubase 12 allow you to loop individual audio or midi clips by selecting them and pressing a keyboard command, this is quicker than setting regions and great when you want to loop one small section. There are many other things I like too but when it comes to mixing and using plugins, this is where Mixcraft fails for me as it just can’t seem to handle it and it becomes almost impossible to continue. I work mostly with recorded audio and a lot of it isn’t 4/4 and doesn’t fit neatly into bars or measures so I like being able to move around freely which is a lot easier in Mixcraft. In other DAW’s you have to mess about setting regions and the snap settings are hard to turn off. I love being able to zoom with the mouse and how it will zoom based on where I put the cursor. Looping is so much simpler in that you can just drag a box around a clip or section and press the loop button and play. I like how in Mixcraft I can do nearly everything with just my mouse. In other DAW’s a lot of things are hidden behind keyboard shortcuts or require certain functions to be turned on. I love Mixcraft’s simplicity and how intuitive it is and that most things are available on the main page. I have also submitted support tickets but haven’t been able to resolve the issues and came to the conclusion it was an issue in Mixcraft after trying a few other DAW’s and having no issues there so I could rule out any problems with my computer.Īnyway, I have been trying demos of Studio One and Cubase 12 and even bought Reaper but after quite a long time using Mixcraft, I just prefer it much more so I really hope MC 10 will work better. I have posted a few times about my problems with various plugins and Mixcraft crashing and extremely high CPU usage on just a handful of tracks. Hi, i am looking forward to the release of Mixcraft 10 and I would like to know if it will have better VST support and CPU optimisation?
